Toys & Treats!

For your doodle puppy who will be teething the first 9 months of his or her life, you want to be EXTREMELY careful with the toys you leave them unattended with! Do NOT leave your puppy unattended with a stuffed animal OR a tennis ball. They will tear them apart and possibly swallow them.

Ropes are the absolute best toy for your puppy the first year of their life. After that you can introduce stuffed animals for longer periods of time. The "Kong Wobbler Treat Dispenser" as well as the "Find the Treat Doggie Games" are great alternatives when leaving your dog for more than 4 hours at a time. It will keep them entertained and snacking throughout the day.

Below are some fun "Dog Games" and Stuffed Animals! Keep in mind that some brands have different (Levels) that your puppy will have to learn and get used to before moving onto another level. :) Also please don't leave a stuffed animal or tennis with your dog unattended. A teething dog will eat them.

We strongly suggest NOT giving your puppy treats the first 4-6 months due to their digestive systems still being infant. We highly recommend using kibbles of their "Taste of the Wild" puppy food for their first months of name, "trick", and potty training. After that, we suggest Bully Sticks and Rawhide Bones occasionally for good behavior but keep in mind that too much of those can lead to stomach upset and/or diarrhea.

After 6-9 months of age their stomachs we be able to better handle treats and longer time with the rawhide bone and bully sticks!

We have had lots of families have success with "potty bell training." When they ring the bell on the designated doorknob, you let them out. You can also have a phrase that you occasionally say for example: "Go Potty Outside?" that you say to your dog every time you take them out. They will get conditioned to go to the door every time you say the phrase and they need to go potty.
